Why It's Essential
Since the changing seasons are an integral part of students' lives, it's important that students understand the causes of the changes and the differences among the four seasons. This lesson allows students to explore these changes and learn the scientific causes for spring, summer, winter, and fall.

Changing With The Tides
Students will learn about the effects of the ocean's tides on the salt marsh habitat. After learning the characteristics of the salt marsh, students will act out the effects of high tide and low tide on the habitat and discuss what happens to this environment.

The King of Tides
Is the moon to blame for causing the tides? Students act like detectives to discover if the moon is guilty as charged or if another force is at work to cause the tides. Students will learn about various types of tides and will present their findings to the class to determine if the moon is the true cause of tides.
